Passive Summing Network
This is an 8 to 2 line level to mic summing bus. Much better for combining signals that the summing algorithm in a DAW. Built out of scraps, and terminated to XLR female and driven from the 8 outputs on my MOTU 896HD. I noticed immediately an increase in width of stereo field (due to absence of pan law), and more dynamic range. Plus I can run the output to any of my preamps, to color the mix. Sounds killer with my hotrod 1272's!
SSL 9000 Preamp and Analog Summing Box
This unit contains 2 SSL 9000 series preamps selectable between their mic input and an 8 channel passive mixer. This box sounds fantasic as a line mixer with the preamps set for makeup gain, and the mic pre is huge and quiet with tons of gain. This box is an inexpensive route into analog summing and is also well suited as a professional sounding mic preamp with phantom power.

Yamaha PM1000 input modules
This is a project that I started over a year ago, and never really finished. Now they are finished - save for the unbalanced output which is dependant on my not getting robbed for output transformers. These strips were $75 a channel when I purchased them, things have changed since people now know how awesome these sound!

Hotrodded Neve 283AV for 1272 style Preamps
These are Neve 1272 style preamps derived from the standard Neve 283AV gain cards. The "Hotrod" mod comes from Joe Malone over at JLM audio - and the PCB's were designed and printed up by Greg at Capstan Recording. I used the JLM input and output transformers for this project so that I could easily fit it into a 1U rack case. Also, the JLM DI and Go Between kits were used to get an instrument or line input and for the phase/pad/phantom power hookup. How do they sound? Ginormous!

DIY LA2A Tube Compressor
This is a fabulous sounding LA2A rework by Dripelectronics. He printed a PCB, which has everything on board except the heaters and hookups for the transformers - much easier to build than the point to point version. I used Sowter transformers, and they sound great. The meter is something I was given by a friend of mine - notice I had to add a little germanium rectifier on a breadboard to make it function properly. The TB4 is an original from the JBL tent sale, and the aluminum case is from par-metal.

SID Synthesizer
A Single SID version of the Ucapps Midibox SID. I still need to throw some paint onto this, and I am not thrilled with the buttons so I will probably replace them too. This thing sounds awesome!

Trident Series 65 Input Modules
A project that I recently completed for a friend, and I kept 2 channels for myself. I used Peter C's Green PSU to get +/- 15VDC and 48VDC, and just ran the I/O into where the bussing used to be. Right now the outputs are unbalanced - but there is some nice hot signal - plenty for my Motu 896 inputs with the trim pots all the way closed.
